Hall of Fame - Roger Birkett

We kicked off Arc40k with a bang this year as Roger Birkett was inducted into the Hall of Fame. It's a huge honor, and we couldn't be happier for him!

The Arc40k Hall of Fame is reserved for those individuals who have made a significant impact on the event and the hobby as a whole. And it's safe to say that Roger has done just that. He's a game-changer who has helped make Arc40k even greater by embodying its ideals and values.

Roger has been an integral part of the Arc40k community for over a decade, which is truly impressive. Despite the pandemic wreaking havoc over the past couple of years, he has still made the long trek from Ipswich, Queensland, down to Melbourne to participate in the event. That's what we call dedication!

But it's not just his commitment to the hobby and the event that make Roger stand out. He's also a force to be reckoned with when it comes to army painting and presentation. A spirited rivalry and respect exist between Roger and the other Hobbyists who vie to create the best presented armies

Throughout his involvement in the event he has brought some truely remarkable creations. The result is that Roger has won the Player's Choice award back to back, placed in the top three several times, as well as finishing top 5 in Best Painted army - there’s hardly been a year where Roger hasn’t stood up to receive an accolade for his army.

His skill and dedication to painting new armies to a very high standard every year are truly remarkable.

This year, he added another feather to his cap by winning the Best Theme award. His creativity and ability to bring his army to life on the tabletop were showcased perfectly by his Leagues of Votann, inspired by the StarCraft video game.

What really sets Roger apart is his contribution to growing the community. He has introduced and brought along a group of other Queensland players, which has helped expand the Arc40k community and bring new players into the fold. His passion for the hobby and willingness to share it with others have made the event richer and more diverse.

Roger embodies the true spirit of the hobby, playing for fun and always being an active part of the Arc40k community and that's what makes tabletop gaming such a special experience. Winning is great, but it's the community and camaraderie that make it truly rewarding.

So, we’re pleased to acknowledge Roger Birkett, the latest inductee into the Arc40k Hall of Fame. His skill, creativity, and dedication to the hobby and the community have made a lasting impact on Arc40k, and we can't wait to see what he'll accomplish next.
