What if I told you…

That the Players Pack for the 25 year Anniversary Arc40k in 2023 is so close you can almost taste it’s flavor. It’s time to make the right choice and take the Red Pill!

The onus as always is on you to get that list right.

Yesterday we announced that it would be online as a webpage and accessible as part of the Arc40k site for the very first time. But that’s not the biggest change! Far from it.

The biggest change you’ll read about and need to plan for is how we want you to lodge your Army List with us!

Over recent years we’ve moved away from an Army Judging committee and the need for everyone’s list to be lodged up to two weeks before the event to give time for every army to be checked, judged and reviewed.

One thing we’ve also seen and heard over the years is from those people with big plans regarding what they wish to add or finish to complete their army build to reveal on the big day.

There are always those still planning to complete units and models that they have gambled will be done in time so they have put them in their lists two weeks out. You know this story right - best laid plans that only fall short of completion. Or you’re up all night before the event only to fall asleep and not wake up in time to get to the event!

You’ve got to feel for anyone who’s made this choice, fallen into the trap of planning big and not being able to finish…

The worst for us as organisers is that we’ve set a challenge and players feel they can’t participate at Arc40k for a weekend of awesome gaming and mateship because their army wouldn’t match the list - submitted weeks before. It’s not really fair - we have less starters, less participants and for those who don’t make the starting grid a very dissapointing Arc40k experience.

Well, we really do want as many people to have the best possible experience of Arc40k - including everything involved in getting to game day.

That’s resulted in the biggest change we are making for players this year. That will see Army lists not being sent in before the event. Everyone will lodge a printout of their army list, along with any theme or background they wish to submit on the Saturday morning.

When players turn up and sign in to play for the day they will hand over their list. The onus as always is on you to get that list right but you’ve got until the last minute to make the completed army and army list align.

The other bonus of this change is that Codexes, FAQs, Balance Data Sheets and any other updates that are released up to Saturday 25 February will be valid and used at Arc40k on 5-6 March.

There are more details about the Player’s Pack that we will announce and provide details for in the lead up to the Pack going live as it’s new format as a part of the website. You really will want to read all the details and work out the impact of the changes being made to celebrate everything that has made Arc40k the event which is on it’s way to celebrating 25 years in 2023.
