Think Bigger is Better… Think Imperial Knights

Step into the 41st Millennium and embrace the awe-inspiring might of the Imperial Knights, colossal war machines that tower over the battlefield like towering behemoths.

Knights of Damnation - on parade and on display - Imperial Knights are and imposing army.

In this Faction Focus, we explore the Big rule set that will awaken your sense of honor and guide your path as to best command these mighty war engines.

The Imperial Knights are Masters of Unity In stark contrast to their traitorous kin - the Imperial Knights epitomize the spirit of camaraderie and cooperation.

Questoris Knights, with their superior Bondsman abilities, shepherd smaller Armigers to triumph, while the commanding Dominus Knights extend their wide ion shields to protect their allies.

This dedication in working together strengthens their forces and grants them even greater durability.

Imperial Knights abide by the Code Chivalric, a strict set of rules that guide their conduct on the battlefield. Before each battle, commanders select an Oath that bestows powerful abilities upon their knights. By accomplishing the associated Deed, the knights achieve Honoured status, earning 3 Command points as a valuable reward.

One such Oath is "Lay Low the Tyrant," empowering knights to re-roll 1s for both Hit and Wound rolls when engaging in combat or shooting. The Deed is completed when the enemy Warlord is vanquished, fueling the knights' desire to dismantle their foes.

Another oath, "Reclaim the Realm," grants knights a bonus of 1" to their Movement characteristic, as well as a +1 to Advance and Charge rolls. To fulfill the Deed, knights must seize control of one or more objective markers within their opponent's deployment zone, showcasing their strategic prowess.

These Oaths, alongside the Code Chivalric, promote unity and tactical coordination among the Imperial Knights. By adhering to their noble principles, the knights demonstrate their unwavering honor and skill on the battlefield.

The Noble Lance Detachment further amplifies the significance of Honoured status, bolstering the Feel No Pain rule to an impressive 5+. The unyielding determination of these noble warriors is a testament to their unshakeable resolve. This will make it event harder to remove the already impregnable Knights.

What about Armigers?

The Vanguard of the Imperial Knights Armigers serve as the backbone of the Imperial Knights' ground forces, embodying the role of line troops.

With an improved Toughness and an impressive Objective Control characteristic of 8, Armigers can hold their ground as effectively as any other army.

Armed with devastating reaper chain-cleavers, they leave a trail of destruction in their wake, ensuring that any foe foolish enough to challenge them meets a grim fate.

A Hero of Legendary Might

Canis Rex and Freedom's Hand Canis Rex, known as the Chainbreaker, strikes fear into the hearts of those who dare to oppose it.

Equipped with the mighty Freedom's Hand, Canis Rex can pulverize anything in its path, delivering a devastating blow capable of inflicting 45 damage upon formidable adversaries or obliterating entire squads of elite troops with ease. Notably, the datasheet for Sir Hekhtur can be found on the reverse side of the Canis Rex card, allowing this noble hero to continue his valiant charge even after his noble steed falls.

Weapons of Triumph Among an army where even a Knight's feet are comparable to specialized close combat units, it is challenging to pinpoint a singular standout weapon. However, the thundercoil harpoon has managed to capture our attention once again. This spiky behemoth, as wielded by the Knight Valiant, continues to strike fear into the hearts of opponents. Its awe-inspiring statistics guarantee its status as a hyper-intimidating threat, capable of instilling despair within enemy vehicles.

On a more practical note, the Knight Paladin's rapid-fire battle cannon has returned, boasting a fresh new Rapid Fire rule. This update ensures a more consistent number of shots, with the added bonus of the Blast rule for some additional potency against larger hordes.

Glory and Sacrifice: Shouldering the Burden Driven by their pursuit of glory, the valiant pilots of the Imperial Knights often push their iron steeds beyond the limits of safety. In the darkest hours, they rise undeterred, ready to Shoulder the Burden in their unwavering quest for victory. Those who have already achieved honorable deeds can do so multiple times during battle, becoming legendary figures remembered for ages to come. However, this pursuit is not without risk, as failure
