Secondhand Sunday: Redux

Secondhand Sunday is a long standing highlight of Arc40k weekends - it’s been around for most of our 25 years. And as this is a year when we celebrate everything which is at the heart of and quintessential to the Arc40k experience how could we not see it part of the offer of this coming weekend.

What’s great about Secondhand Sunday? Everything!

For some of our fellow hobbyist it’s the perfect way to take that pile of shame and exchange it for a new pile of aspiration. So yes you can turn those unused models into something useful - more models?

It’s a great way to make extra hobby dollars, declutter your workspace, and help others find the items they need.

Whether you’re selling Marines, Custards, Astra Militarum or one of those filthy Xenos races - Secondhand Sunday is an excellent platform for getting rid of things you don’t need anymore - but something that other hobbyist has just been waiting to find.

Its easy-to join in and a secure payment system - Money is placed in envelopes, which are submitted to our very own almost Space Marine, Spamuel Von Hohneck - it’s a safe and convenient way to sell your unwanted models on the big weekend. The hardest thing is to decide on a price!

So don't let those unused models take up valuable space in your hobby cave - put them up for sale on Secondhand Sunday!

Basically Secondhand Sunday will run like previous years.

If you have items looking for a new home then bring along everything you want to part in clear ziplock bags or original box. It’s a WYSIWYG moment for the buyers so make sure they can see exactly what they will be getting for their hard earned dollars.

There’s a $5 donation that is paid before leaving your items. We’ll give you up to five envelopes…

It’s up to you to decide the price you’re willing to accept to part with your valued item/s. So write that on the front of the envelope. Your name and mobile number need to be written on the back. So there will be an envelope will attached to every item that will join the Secondhand Sunday tables.

Now, if you’re looking for the start of that new army, or need reinforcements for this years force. Or you can’t let a bargain pass you by…

Then from 10.00am the tables will be open - you can peruse at your leisure, trawl through the plastic bags to find you next plastic project…

You’ll need some cash - so make sure you bring some, in varied and hopefully small denominations. It’s then a matter of taking the bag over to our Space Marine supervisor. He’ll check your cash and seal it inside the envelope. And the goodie bag will be yours.

Sellers will need to collect their envelopes or unsold items before 5.00pm on Sunday or else everything is forfeit and your donation will be greatly appreciated.

So that’s how Secondhand Sunday will work.

Anyone with an event ticket can participate.

If you’ve things you wish to part with then all you need do is sort out some things you’re ready to move on and pack them into clear ziplock bags.

If you think that browsing through the bags to pick up a bargain is your thing then bring CASH! Small denominations is recommended as you’ll need to put the exact amount into any envelops for items you are wanting to buy.

So, you’ll all be able to join in. But only if you don’t forget to pack them on Sunday morning and bring them along or have a fist full of small denominiation dollerydoos!
